Calibration
Monitor the exact managed instrument’s calibration state, record certificate evidence and use the existing controlled withdrawal/work/release foundation. It is not a maintenance scheduler or metrology impact case screen.
Screen orientation
Available instruments and actions are filtered by assigned site, clearance and the corresponding Inventory/Quality permissions. A user cannot select an unscoped serialized identity.
The register starts with instrument due state. Open an instrument to inspect its retained certificate/history and then use the context action permitted by its state.
Field reference
The entries below describe the current screen controls and read-only values. They do not relax server-side validation, site scope, classification handling or required independence in a governed decision.
| Field or value | Control | Required or shown when | How to use or read it | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Serialized stock | Select | Required to register a calibration-controlled instrument. | Select the exact managed serialized identity already held under authorised custody. | Connects calibration evidence to the real physical identity without creating it. |
| Asset code | Text | Required. | Use the controlled asset/instrument identifier visible on the managed item. | Provides a readable instrument reference alongside the serial identity. |
| Frequency (days) / Alert lead time (days) | Number | Required for controlled calibration planning. | Use approved interval and alert values; do not use this field to schedule an unauthorised service workflow. | Determines visible due-state evaluation for the instrument. |
| Calibrated on / Valid until | Date | Required when recording a calibration certificate. | Enter the actual calibration date and approved certificate validity end. Validity must reflect the supporting certificate. | Records retained calibration evidence and next due context. |
| Certificate reference / Calibration laboratory | Text | Required for certificate evidence. | Use the exact certificate identifier and the performing laboratory. Attach/choose controlled evidence where required by the flow. | Makes the certificate traceable to the instrument and service event. |
| Result / Certificate notes | Select and long text | Required when recording calibration outcome. | Record the actual result and precise explanatory notes. An out-of-tolerance result must follow the governed Quality/metrology route. | Updates the calibration evidence state; it does not decide product impact. |
| Authorization reference / Documented justification | Text and long text | Required for a controlled exception or state transition when prompted. | Use the authoritative approval reference and explain why the exceptional action is permitted. | Adds attributable exception evidence without weakening the ordinary controls. |
Actions and effects
When to use: When an eligible serialized instrument needs approved calibration parameters.
What it does: Sets controlled due-state metadata; it does not create physical stock.
When to use: After actual calibration evidence is available.
What it does: Adds retained certificate evidence and current validity state.
When to use: At the authorised lifecycle point.
What it does: Uses the existing controlled serviceability/custody route; it does not create a maintenance programme or repair record.
Lists and states
- Instrument register: asset, serial, status, due date and certificate state expose readiness without inferring product impact.
- Certificate history: use reference, date and result to identify exact retained calibration evidence.
Authority boundary
Calibration is the instrument readiness foundation. It does not schedule maintenance automatically, perform metrology impact assessment, repair an instrument or post financial data.
