Flow 26 — Repair, replacement, RMA, warranty and reinspection assurance
Connect an exact approved NCR/MRB disposition to the authoritative internal repair, supplier custody, RMA, warranty or accepted replacement record, then independently reinspect and close.
Overview
Flow 26 coordinates and snapshots evidence only. It never starts/completes maintenance, dispatches/reconciles subcontractor custody, receives or accepts a replacement, changes a physical identity, releases blocked stock, posts inventory or sends a supplier message.
Quality Engineer scope author → different QA Head scope reviewer → different Product Engineer → Stores Supervisor for internal repair or Supplier Quality Engineer for external/RMA/warranty/replacement coordination → different Quality Inspector → different QA Head reinspection reviewer → different QA Head closer → QMR / Project or Contract Manager / Auditor read-only
Process
- 1Exact disposition scope
Freeze the active NCR, approved investigation and executed MRB identity/quantity/disposition.
Immutable scope · source read-only - 2QA and Engineering
Reject for replacement or independently approve scope and technical restoration basis.
No repair/custody transaction - 3Route coordination
Internal Stores or external Supplier Quality cites the authoritative route and accountable references.
Owning module performs work - 4Exact fulfillment
Snapshot completed PASS maintenance, reconciled original return or separately accepted replacement identity.
No source mutation - 5Reinspect and closeREAD ONLY
Inspector records every check; separate QA reviews and another QA closes only a PASS result.
Rejected identity remains blocked

Detailed reference chapters
Detailed steps
- 1
As Quality Engineer, open Quality → Repair & replacement and select one active serialized NCR whose current investigation is approved for REWORK or REJECT and whose exact MRB disposition has already been executed. Choose internal repair, external repair, supplier RMA, warranty or replacement and author immutable scope v1.
- 2
Submit v1. As a different QA Head, reject it and confirm it remains immutable. Create v2 and approve only an unchanged NCR/investigation/MRB fingerprint. As a distinct Product Engineer, approve the restoration/replacement requirements and constraints.
- 3
For internal repair, a Stores Supervisor cites the exact maintenance work order. For external repair, RMA, warranty or replacement, a Supplier Quality Engineer cites the exact supplier, RMA/warranty reference, optional same-NCR SCAR and existing custody route. The case creates none of those records.
- 4
Record fulfillment only from a completed PASS maintenance work order, a reconciled same-supplier returned original identity, or a different active physical instance tied to a same-item accepted receipt inspection. The rejected serial is never relabelled as the replacement.
- 5
As a different Quality Inspector, record the exact resolved serial, method and every PASS/FAIL check. As a different QA Head, reject a failed result for a new immutable reinspection or accept an unchanged PASS fulfillment fingerprint. As another QA Head, close acceptable/monitored risk and reconcile unchanged source/custody/stock/message witnesses as Auditor.
Field-by-field practice data
Create a repair-assurance scope for one serialized training NCR. The page shows sample set A; the workbook includes independent A, B and C values.
Field names match the current application labels. Select existing approved records where shown, leave optional values blank unless they genuinely apply, and never copy fictitious TRAIN values into live work.
Create the repair scope
Select the eligible serialized NCR and define restoration plus reinspection criteria.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eligible serialized NCR | Select existing | TRAIN-A-NCR-REP-001 | Select the exact serialized source. |
| Resolution mode | Required | REPAIR | Choose repair, replacement or other approved mode. |
| Target resolution | Required | RESTORE_TO_SERVICEABLE | Use the governed target. |
| Title | Required | TRAIN-A actuator connector repair | Use a factual scope title. |
| Problem scope | Required | Connector pin damage on serialized training actuator. | Bound the exact defect and identity. |
| Restoration / replacement requirements | Required | Replace connector per TRN-REPAIR-01 and retain continuity results. | State controlled technical requirements. |
| Acceptance criteria | Required | Visual and continuity checks pass; no open critical NCR remains. | Define objective completion criteria. |
| Immutable scope evidence | Select existing | TRAIN-A-REPAIR-SCOPE-001 | Select CLEAN controlled evidence. |
Expected result: Independent decisions govern the scope; repair coordination does not silently post inventory or maintenance actions.
End state
One closed repair-assurance case retains rejected and approved immutable scopes, separate technical/route/inspection/QA authorities, exact authoritative fulfillment snapshots and accepted reinspection without acquiring maintenance, supplier-custody, receipt, inspection-disposition, physical-identity, inventory or messaging authority.
