Suspect-counterfeit control
Preserve authenticity evidence, record investigation and impact assessments, and obtain a joint QA/Security decision while the exact suspect material remains held.
Screen orientation
counterfeit:read is site- and clearance-scoped. Raising, preservation, assignment, investigation, QA decision, Security concurrence and closure use counterfeit:raise, :preserve, :assign, :investigate, :decide, :security and :close. The assigned Quality Engineer normally investigates; the server allows a permitted tenant-admin exception for submission. This does not remove the separate QA/Security independence checks. Supplier Quality, Procurement and Audit are read-only roles here.
Summary cards show open, preservation, investigation, QA decision, Security and closure work. Raise suspect case opens the creation form. Register cards identify held stock, evidence preservation, investigator and joint decision, with expandable investigation/decision history and a state-specific action form below.
Field reference
The entries below describe the current screen controls and read-only values. They do not relax server-side validation, site scope, classification handling or required independence in a governed decision.
| Field or value | Control | Required or shown when | How to use or read it | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Contained S1 NCR | Select | Required; an eligible contained, open S1 supplier/product-safety NCR without an existing case. | Select the NCR tied to an exact item, supplier, location, ownership pool, batch/serial/container identity and quantity already in BLOCKED or MRB_HOLD custody. | Copies the suspect scope without creating a hold or moving material. |
| Authenticity standard | Select | Required. | Choose the implemented AS6174B, AS5553E, AS6081A or OTHER value that matches the controlled investigation basis. Selecting a value is not a compliance certification. | Labels the authenticity basis retained with the case. |
| Supplier CAGE / Manufacturer CAGE (optional) | Two text controls | Supplier CAGE required; manufacturer CAGE optional; supplied values 2–24 characters. | Enter the supported identifiers; the form normalizes letters to uppercase. These fields do not validate a supplier's approval or manufacturer accreditation. | Retains supplier/manufacturer provenance identifiers. |
| Classification | Select | Required, with source classification and clearance enforced. | Use the applicable handling level; a lower selection cannot downgrade the linked source scope. | Controls access to case evidence and investigation. |
| Basis for counterfeit suspicion | Multiline text | Required; at least 20 characters. | State objective authenticity concerns, not a final finding before investigation. | Records why the suspect case was raised. |
| Seal reference / Controlled location reference / Completed on | Two text controls and date | Required for preservation; date cannot be future. | Record the actual seal, controlled storage reference and completed preservation date. The location reference is evidence, not an inventory relocation selector. | Attests preservation while the stock identity remains held. |
| Preservation method / Chain of custody | Two multiline text controls | Each required; at least 20 characters each. | Describe how evidence was protected and the attributable custody chain supporting it. | Retains the preservation account before investigator assignment. |
| Preservation evidence | Controlled evidence select | Required at preservation. | Select one CLEAN immutable version from an active same-site document within the case classification. Raising the initial suspect case has no evidence selector; preservation is the evidence-backed next step. | Pins the exact preservation artifact. |
| Independent Quality Engineer / Investigation due / Assignment rationale | Select, date and multiline text | Required; due date not in the past and rationale at least 20 characters. | Select an active, site-scoped, cleared Quality Engineer other than the case originator. A displayed option is still subject to server eligibility checks. | Assigns investigation after EVIDENCE_PRESERVED. |
| Authenticity methods | Comma-separated text | At least one supported method required. | Enter VISUAL, MARKING, DOCUMENT, X_RAY, XRF, ELECTRICAL, DESTRUCTIVE or OTHER. Values are trimmed, uppercased and deduplicated; this records methods used, not permission to perform destructive testing. | Records the investigation methods on an immutable version. |
| Provenance findings / Marking findings / Test findings / Chain-of-custody findings | Four multiline text controls | Each required; at least 20 characters each. | Record the evidence and limitations for each topic rather than copying the same conclusion into every field. | Preserves the investigator's authenticity assessment. |
| Traceability / installed impact / Recommendation rationale / Recommended outcome | Two multiline text controls and select | Findings/rationale at least 20 characters; outcome required. | Explain known and unresolved installed impact and choose CONFIRMED_COUNTERFEIT, NOT_COUNTERFEIT or INCONCLUSIVE. This is the engineer's recommendation, not the joint decision. | Submits a proposed authenticity outcome for independent QA. |
| Impact type / Affected reference / Status / Impact assessment | Repeatable selects, text and multiline text | 1–100 links; reference and assessment required, assessment at least 20 characters. | Use BATCH, SERIAL, CONTAINER, PRODUCT_UNIT, PROJECT, SHIPMENT or OTHER and POTENTIAL, CONFIRMED or CLEARED. Add/remove links as needed. These are typed references, not resolved object pickers or automatic genealogy discovery. | Retains searchable, manually assessed impact links without updating the referenced objects. |
| Authenticity-investigation evidence | Controlled evidence select | Required to submit investigation. | Select the CLEAN same-site evidence version supporting the investigation, within case classification. | Pins the report evidence and advances to DECISION_PENDING. |
| QA outcome / Custody recommendation | Two selects | Required for the QA proposal. | Choose the QA outcome separately from the engineering recommendation. MRB_RELEASE_REVIEW is available only for NOT_COUNTERFEIT; other choices include RETAIN_BLOCK, AUTHORITY_HOLD, MRB_DISPOSITION_REVIEW and DESTRUCTION_REVIEW. | Recommends follow-up custody review only; MRB_RELEASE_REVIEW does not release stock. |
| Independent QA rationale / Recurrence controls / QA decision evidence | Two multiline text controls and controlled evidence select | Texts at least 20 characters and CLEAN same-site evidence required. | Explain the independent outcome and recurrence controls. The originator and investigator cannot propose the final QA outcome. | Creates a new immutable proposal awaiting Security concurrence. |
| Security decision | Select | CONCUR or REJECT required on the current pending proposal. | Security must be independent of the originator, investigator and QA proposer. | CONCUR makes the case DECIDED; REJECT returns it to DECISION_PENDING for a new QA proposal. |
| Provenance assessment / Chain-of-custody assessment / Cross-programme / installed impact / Security concurrence note | Four multiline text controls | Each required; at least 20 characters each. | Record Security's own assessment of provenance, custody and broader impact, with an attributable decision rationale. | Preserves the independent Security review of the exact QA proposal. |
| Authority/customer notification reference required before closure / Notification reference (capture only; no message is sent) | Checkbox and text | Checkbox records the requirement; the reference may be recorded now or at closure. | Mark when follow-up notification evidence is needed and capture an existing reference. No customer or authority is contacted by this form. | Sets a closure prerequisite, not a delivery job. |
| Security concurrence evidence | Controlled evidence select | Required for concurrence or rejection. | Select the exact CLEAN same-site Security evidence version within case classification. | Pins the concurrence evidence to the current proposal. |
| Closure summary / Retained custody / follow-up authority / Notification reference, if required | Multiline text and two text controls | Summary at least 20 characters and custody reference required; notification reference required if Security mandated it and none is already retained. | Identify retained custody and separate follow-up authority. The originator, investigator and Security reviewer cannot close the case; QA may close its own independently concurred proposal. | Closes only the investigation after rechecking held identity and quantity. |
| Closure evidence | Controlled evidence select | Required at closure. | Select CLEAN same-site closure evidence; it does not serve as an MRB execution instruction. | Retains the exact final investigation package. |
Actions and effects
When to use: After S1 NCR containment with exact held material, then after physical preservation is complete.
What it does: Creates SUSPECT and records EVIDENCE_PRESERVED. Both retain existing custody; neither makes a stock posting.
When to use: After preservation, then by the assigned eligible engineer with completed findings and impact links.
What it does: Moves through INVESTIGATION to DECISION_PENDING, retaining immutable authenticity evidence.
When to use: QA independently proposes the outcome, then a separate Security actor reviews it.
What it does: Requires concurrence on the current proposal. A rejected proposal stays in history; a new proposal is required rather than editing the rejected one.
When to use: At DECIDED with the current Security-concurred proposal, closure evidence and any required notification reference.
What it does: Rechecks the exact held identity and quantity and closes the case without changing custody or closing its parent NCR.
Lists and states
- Suspect-counterfeit register: case/NCR identifiers, site/location, ownership, quantity and batch/serial context identify the retained suspect scope; these are not editable stock controls.
- Investigation details show the latest methods, investigator, provenance and manually assessed impact links. A POTENTIAL or CLEARED impact is an assessment, not a material status transition.
- Decision history preserves proposal version, outcome, custody recommendation, QA actor, Security actor/status and Security note, including rejected proposals.
Authority boundary
Even NOT_COUNTERFEIT and a closed case leave material held. This screen never releases, returns, repairs or destroys stock, changes supplier approval, closes the parent NCR or sends notifications. MRB execution and external communication require separate controlled authority.
