Flow 38 — Exact cutting-tool and fixture lifecycle
Extend an existing approved TOOL or EQUIPMENT resource and its exact serialized physical identity with immutable life/inspection controls, fixture composition, finite calendars, preset evidence and ledger-backed crib custody through one released dispatch.
Overview
Flow 38 has only the explicit exact-tool custody authority shown here: checkout/return and service block/release post paired append-only stock-ledger movements for the same serialized unit. It creates no quantity, alternate identity, material issue, receipt, Assembly consumption, calibration certificate, maintenance work, generic workflow or machine command.
Manufacturing Engineer author/service recorder → different Production Manager definition releaser → Production Planner dispatch pin → different Production Supervisor release → Stores Officer exact checkout/return → exact named Production Operator execution/life use → different Quality Inspector service reviewer → Auditor read-only
Process
- 1Extend exact identity
Select one current approved TOOL/EQUIPMENT resource already bound to one active serialized physical instance in its crib.
Zero new quantity or identity - 2Release immutable control
Version life metric/limit, warning, inspection interval, regrind ceiling, preset requirement and crib; release independently.
Definition only - 3Freeze fixture composition
For a fixture, pin each exact active component control, approved resource version, single-unit capacity calendar, position, setup and tolerance.
Finite pins only - 4Pin and preset
A fresh dispatch freezes exact control/configuration fingerprints and any required preset evidence.
No custody change yet - 5Checkout and consume life
Stores posts paired exact serialized movements to the operational location; execution records life against every pinned identity.
Declared ledger custody - 6Return and serviceREAD ONLY
Return to the exact crib, block due/failed tooling, retain inspection/regrind evidence and require independent Quality release.
Declared block/release only
Role handoff

Detailed steps
- 1
Open Manufacturing → Tooling & fixture lifecycle and register an already approved exact TOOL or EQUIPMENT resource whose active physical instance exists as one unrestricted serialized unit in the selected same-site/classification crib.
- 2
Author the immutable life, inspection, regrind and preset boundary, submit it and obtain a different Production Manager's release. Confirm no item, resource, physical identity, quantity, calibration or maintenance record was created.
- 3
For a FIXTURE, author and release the configuration by selecting every exact component control, its current approved resource version and its active approved capacity-calendar version plus ordered position/setup/tolerance evidence.
- 4
Plan a fresh Flow 28 dispatch. Confirm the primary control and fixture components are in crib/serviceable/within life, the exact versions/fingerprints are pinned and every component receives its own finite capacity load.
- 5
Record required presets for that exact dispatch, then as Stores Officer check the whole pinned bundle out to one exact operational location and named operator. Reconcile one paired checkout movement per serialized identity and unchanged total quantity.
- 6
As the named operator complete the established operation; confirm exact life events accumulate and due/limit state blocks stock in place. Return the bundle to its exact crib, record inspection or cutting-tool regrind evidence, and have a different Quality Inspector accept or reject it before reuse.
Field-by-field practice data
Release one exact serialized cutting-tool control and fixture configuration, pin them to a training dispatch, then check out, use, return and independently inspect the bundle. The page shows sample set A; the workbook includes independent A, B and C values.
Field names match the current application labels. Select existing approved records where shown, leave optional values blank unless they genuinely apply, and never copy fictitious TRAIN values into live work.
Release the exact tooling control
Select an existing approved exact tooling resource and its current crib, define finite life/service values and obtain independent release.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact approved resource | Select existing | TRAIN-A-CUTTER-001 · TRAIN-A-SER-001 | Select an existing approved TOOL/EQUIPMENT resource with one active exact physical identity. |
| Tooling class | Required | CUTTING_TOOL | Use FIXTURE only for the exact parent fixture identity. |
| Exact tool crib | Select existing | TRAIN-A-TOOL-CRIB | Select the same-site location containing the exact unrestricted one-unit identity. |
| Life metric | Required | CYCLES | Choose USES, MINUTES or CYCLES according to the released control basis. |
| Life limit | Required | 1000.000000 | Enter an exact positive decimal within six places. |
| Warning at | Required | 800.000000 | Must remain below the released life limit. |
| Inspection interval | Required | 250.000000 | Must not exceed the life limit. |
| Maximum regrinds | Required | 3 | Use zero when regrind is not permitted. |
| Control note | Required | Govern exact serialized life, inspection, regrind, preset and crib custody for training A with CLEAN controlled evidence. | State the bounded factual control basis and select the matching CLEAN same-site evidence in the adjacent evidence field. |
Expected result: One immutable active control extends the existing resource, physical identity, calibration and stock projection without creating quantity or an alternate identity.
Freeze the exact fixture components
For the released fixture control, add every exact active component with its approved resource/calendar version, position, setup and tolerance, then release independently.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact fixture control | Select existing | TRAIN-A-FIXTURE-001 | Select the active fixture control. |
| Configuration title | Required | Training A actuator housing fixture | Use a factual controlled title. |
| Controlled purpose | Required | Freeze exact locators, clamps and cutter positions for the governed training A setup. | Describe the bounded configuration intent. |
| Sequence | Required | 10 | Use unique increasing component order. |
| Exact component | Select existing | TRAIN-A-CUTTER-001 | Select an active exact component control. |
| Component role | Required | CUTTER | Choose LOCATOR, CLAMP, CUTTER, GAUGE, SUPPORT or OTHER. |
| Exact calendar | Select existing | TRAIN-A-CUTTER-CAL v1 | Select the active approved single-unit capacity calendar. |
| Position reference | Required | DATUM-A / POSITION-10 | Record the released physical position. |
| Setup value | Required | Tool length 124.570 mm | Record an inert setup fact, never a machine command. |
| Tolerance | Required | +/- 0.010 mm | Record the released acceptance tolerance. |
Expected result: The immutable fixture configuration becomes the exact future dispatch pin source and finite component-load definition.
Preset and check out the pinned bundle
After a fresh exact dispatch is independently released, record required presets and check every pinned identity out to one operational location.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact released dispatch | Select existing | TRAIN-A-MDP-020 | Select the released dispatch carrying the exact tooling snapshots. |
| Parameter | Required | Tool length | Use the released preset characteristic. |
| Value | Required | 124.570 | Record the observed preset value. |
| Unit | Required | mm | Use the released engineering unit. |
| Preset note | Required | Preset verified against controlled setup evidence for training A. | Record attributable facts. |
| Operational location | Select existing | TRAIN-A-CELL-A | Select one exact same-site non-crib location. |
| Exact preset evidence | Select existing | TRAIN-A-MTP-001 | Select every preset required by the pinned bundle. |
| Checkout note | Required | Exact fixture and cutter bundle transferred intact to the named training A operator. | Record custody purpose and condition. |
Expected result: Each exact identity remains tied to the dispatch/operator and moves through paired append-only ledger entries with unchanged total quantity.
Return, inspect and release
Return the complete bundle to each exact crib, record inspection or cutting-tool regrind evidence and obtain independent Quality review.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Return note | Required | Training A bundle returned intact to each exact governed crib. | Record physical return condition. |
| Service event | Required | INSPECTION | Use REGRIND only for a cutting-tool identity. |
| Reference | Required | TRAIN-A-TOOL-INS-001 | Use the controlled tool-room reference. |
| Result | Required | PASS | Overall result must agree with every measurement. |
| Characteristic | Required | Cutting edge condition | Name the inspected characteristic. |
| Observed value | Required | Conforming | Record only what was observed. |
| Tolerance | Required | No edge damage outside released limit | Use the released acceptance boundary. |
| Service note | Required | Exact identity inspected after training A use and submitted for independent Quality review. | State work and evidence reviewed. |
| Decision | Required | APPROVE | A different Quality Inspector accepts or rejects unchanged evidence. |
| Attributable note | Required | PASS evidence and exact identity support service release within remaining life. | Explain the independent decision. |
Expected result: PASS/approved eligible tooling returns to service; due, failed, rejected or life-expired tooling remains explicitly blocked.
End state
One dispatch retains exact resource/control/configuration/calendar/preset/custody/life/service lineage for every serialized tool and fixture component, with finite capacity and explicit stock-ledger reconciliation but no parallel identity, hidden quantity, generic workflow or equipment-control authority.
