Flow 03 — Transfer and operational return
Move controlled stock between authorised locations and bring unused issued material back through quarantine and inspection.
Overview
Transfer preserves total company inventory while changing custody location and in-transit state. A return creates quarantined stock until independent inspection releases it again.

Detailed reference chapters
Detailed steps
- 1

- 3
Use a different receiver at the destination to verify seal, destination and quantity.
- 4
For unused issued material, authorise a return and receive it into quarantine.
- 5
Have Quality inspect the return using CLEAN evidence, then put accepted stock away.
Field-by-field practice data
Transfer one unrestricted unit between authorised bins and return one previously issued unit to quarantine. The page shows sample set A; the workbook includes independent A, B and C values.
Field names match the current application labels. Select existing approved records where shown, leave optional values blank unless they genuinely apply, and never copy fictitious TRAIN values into live work.
Transfer an exact balance
Select an unrestricted source identity and a distinct authorised destination, then record the custody authority.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact unrestricted balance | Select existing | TRAIN-A-LOT-001 · MAIN-01 | Select the source balance. |
| Destination location | Select existing | BIN-B-01 Secure Stores Bay B | Destination must be valid for site and classification. |
| Quantity | Required | 1 | Enter the physically transferred quantity. |
| Movement authorization | Required | TRAIN-A-MOV-AUTH-001 | Use the approved movement authority. |
| Dispatch and custody notes | Required | Sealed package transferred intact for authorised training storage. | Record package condition and purpose. |
Expected result: The same identity moves between locations with balanced immutable ledger entries.
Authorise a return
Select the issued kit line and route the returned unit to quarantine for independent inspection.
| Exact field name | Requirement | Sample value A | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Issued material kit | Select existing | TRAIN-A-WO-001 | Select the exact issued kit. |
| Issued line | Select existing | TRAIN-A-BOLT-M8 · line 1 | Select the exact issued identity. |
| Return quarantine | Select existing | QUAR-01 Receipt Quarantine | Returns require controlled re-entry. |
| Return quantity | Required | 1 | Cannot exceed the issued outstanding quantity. |
| Returning custodian | Required | Training operator A | Name the physical custodian. |
| Authorization reference | Required | TRAIN-A-RET-AUTH-001 | Use the approved return authority. |
| Reason code | Required | UNUSED | Select the actual return reason. |
Expected result: Returned quantity is quarantined; it is not silently restored to usable stock.
End state
Location changes and returns never lose the original identity, ownership or chain of custody, and dispatcher/receiver independence is retained.
