Physical containers
Govern a persistent roll, reel, drum or other divisible-material identity and reconcile its opening, issued, adjusted and remaining content against the authoritative stock ledger.
Screen orientation
Container results and actions require stock visibility within assigned sites and clearance. Registration, issue, measurement and independent variance decisions remain permission-separated server actions.
Search the container register by identity or material, then open eligible actions on an exact row. Registration adopts an existing divisible receipt balance; issue and measurement panels operate on the same retained container.
Field reference
The entries below describe the current screen controls and read-only values. They do not relax server-side validation, site scope, classification handling or required independence in a governed decision.
| Field or value | Control | Required or shown when | How to use or read it | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Search containers | Search | Optional. | Search by container, batch, part number or item name. Use Status to distinguish open material from exhausted, blocked or closed history. | Filters the scoped register without changing container state. |
| Status | Select | Optional register filter. | Choose OPEN, EXHAUSTED, BLOCKED or CLOSED to inspect the intended lifecycle state. | Changes only the visible result set. |
| Receipt and bulk balance | Select | Required to register a container. | Select the exact eligible receipt line, location and stock state that physically contains the divisible material. | Adopts that existing balance into a container identity without changing total quantity. |
| Container number | Text | Required; unique in its governed scope. | Record the persistent physical marking, such as a roll or reel number, not a batch number or receipt number. | Creates the stable container identity used by later custody transactions. |
| Nominal quantity | Decimal | Required; positive. | Enter the labelled or specified capacity in the base unit. Keep the physically received amount separate in Opening quantity. | Retains packaging expectation without manufacturing quantity. |
| Opening / received quantity | Decimal | Required; positive and within the selected eligible balance. | Enter the physical content adopted from the selected receipt balance. | Sets the container reconciliation opening while total stock remains unchanged. |
| Initial measured quantity | Decimal | Optional when an initial measurement was actually performed. | Record the observed content and support any difference with the controlled certificate and registration note. | Creates measurement evidence; a variance still follows its independent decision path. |
| Clean certificate document | Controlled document select | Optional unless local procedure requires measurement evidence. | Choose only the correct CLEAN certificate visible for the container’s site and classification. | Pins immutable evidence to registration or measurement. |
| Issue quantity / Work order or issue authority | Decimal and text | Both required for an issue. | Issue only the quantity physically removed from this exact container and cite the authorised demand or work reference. | Posts the explicit container issue and matching stock-ledger movement. |
| Observed quantity / Measurement and variance reason | Decimal and long text | Required when submitting a new measurement. | Record the actual observation and explain any variance; do not edit opening or prior issue evidence. | Creates a pending measurement/variance record for independent decision where required. |
Actions and effects
When to use: When divisible bulk stock is physically held in one persistent handling unit.
What it does: Creates the container and reconciliation baseline without changing total on-hand quantity.
When to use: When authorised material is physically consumed from the selected open container.
What it does: Reduces that container’s remaining content through an explicit ledger-backed transaction.
When to use: When observed content must be reconciled against calculated remaining quantity.
What it does: Retains the observation and applies only an independently approved variance.
Lists and states
- Container register: identity, item, batch, location, status and nominal/opening/issued/adjusted/remaining values explain the current reconciliation.
- Content-event history: registration, issues and approved adjustments remain append-only evidence.
Authority boundary
A container is not a second stock ledger. Every quantity-changing action must reconcile through the existing current-stock and stock-ledger authority; nesting, splitting and merging are not implied.
