Serialized identities
Resolve the stock serial, OEM serial, governed internal serial and asset code to one immutable physical instance while retaining every authorised alias correction.
Screen orientation
The register is limited by item and stock-read authority, assigned sites and classification clearance. Numbering-profile and alias-correction actions require the catalogue-writing authority shown by the screen.
Search or filter the physical-identity register first. Each row shows the canonical and machine-readable identities, current aliases and retained correction history; controlled numbering profiles and alias corrections open in separate panels.
Field reference
The entries below describe the current screen controls and read-only values. They do not relax server-side validation, site scope, classification handling or required independence in a governed decision.
| Field or value | Control | Required or shown when | How to use or read it | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Search physical identities | Search | Optional; two or more identifying characters are useful. | Search by OEM, internal, asset, canonical stock serial or item context. A missing result may reflect scope, not absence. | Filters only identities already visible to the signed-in user. |
| Status | Select | Optional register filter. | Use RESERVED, ACTIVE, CANCELLED or RETIRED to narrow the register without changing an identity. | Changes the visible result set only. |
| Profile name | Text | Required for a numbering-profile draft. | Use a stable business name that tells reviewers which internal-serial rule is being governed. | Identifies the versioned numbering policy; it does not allocate a serial by itself. |
| Scope | Select | Required for a numbering profile. | Choose TENANT, SITE, CATEGORY or ITEM deliberately, then complete the corresponding selector when required. | Limits where the approved internal-number sequence may be used. |
| Prefix | Text | Required when the numbering rule uses a controlled prefix. | Enter only the approved marking prefix; do not paste an already allocated serial. | Becomes part of future governed internal serials. |
| Sequence width / Starting sequence | Numbers | Required by the numbering profile. | Choose enough width for the approved range and a starting value that does not collide with retained allocations. | Defines collision-safe sequence formatting after independent approval. |
| OEM serial / Internal serial / Asset code | Text | Optional individually; at least the applicable identity evidence must remain valid. | Correct only the alias that is wrong. The immutable physical-instance ID and canonical stock identity remain unchanged. | Updates the current alias while retaining the previous value in correction history. |
| Correction reason | Long text | Required for an alias correction. | Record the evidence and reason for correcting the marked identity; never use correction to merge two physical instances. | Creates attributable retained correction evidence. |
Actions and effects
When to use: When an authorised internal-serial rule is needed for a defined scope.
What it does: Creates a draft profile for independent review; it does not create a physical identity or stock.
When to use: After the profile definition is complete, then by a different authorised reviewer.
What it does: Moves only the exact profile version through governance and preserves rejected history.
When to use: When documentary or physical-marking evidence proves a current alias is wrong.
What it does: Retains the old alias and reason while keeping one immutable physical instance.
Lists and states
- Physical identity register: canonical serial, machine-readable identity, item, classification, status and current aliases identify one retained instance.
- Correction history: previous aliases and reasons remain evidence and do not represent additional stock.
Authority boundary
This screen manages identity resolution and numbering evidence. It cannot receive, move, reserve, issue, duplicate or retire physical quantity through a hidden stock transaction.
