Tutorial: Govern exact tooling and fixture custody
Extend existing serialized resources with finite tooling controls, immutable fixture composition and explicit ledger-backed crib custody.
Learning goal
Manufacturing Engineers, Production Managers, planners, supervisors, Stores Officers, Production Operators, Quality Inspectors and auditors.
Understand what Flow 38 adds, which existing identities remain authoritative, and how one exact bundle moves from released definition through dispatch, use, return and independent service review.
Before you begin
- Use an authorised disposable training tenant or read-only accepted example
- Existing approved TOOL/EQUIPMENT resources each point to one active serialized physical identity
- Each identity is exactly one unrestricted unit in its same-site/classification crib
- Current calibration and active exact capacity calendars exist where required
- Different named users cover definition release and service inspection review
Observation-first is the default. Do not create retained customer, procurement, receipt, inventory, Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing records merely to complete a tutorial.
Guided journey
- 1Manufacturing / InventoryOpen /manufacturing/readiness
Verify authoritative sources
- Acting role
- Manufacturing Engineer
- What to do
- Verify the current approved resource version, exact physical instance/serial, current calibration and one-unit stock projection before opening the tooling lifecycle.
- What you should observe
- Every selected identity already exists; Flow 38 extends it instead of creating a parallel asset.
May changeNothing; source verification is read-only.
Must remain unchangedItem, resource, physical identity, calibration, current stock and ledger remain unchanged.
- 2ManufacturingOpen /manufacturing/tooling
Release immutable control
- Acting role
- Manufacturing Engineer → different Production Manager
- What to do
- Select the exact resource and crib, author finite life/warning/inspection/regrind/preset values with CLEAN evidence, submit and independently release.
- What you should observe
- The approved version freezes the source snapshot and SHA-256 fingerprint.
May changeControl/version/review, evidence, audit and outbox facts.
Must remain unchangedNo quantity, identity, calibration, maintenance, dispatch or machine state is created or changed.
- 3ManufacturingOpen /manufacturing/tooling
Release fixture composition
- Acting role
- Manufacturing Engineer → different Production Manager
- What to do
- For a fixture, select every exact active component control, its current approved resource version and active approved single-unit calendar, then enter ordered position/setup/tolerance values and release independently.
- What you should observe
- The immutable configuration can be pinned only while every exact component remains ready.
May changeFixture configuration/version/component/review evidence.
Must remain unchangedComponents do not merge identities or move from their cribs.
- 4Manufacturing / InventoryOpen /manufacturing/tooling
Pin, preset and check out
- Acting role
- Planner → Supervisor → Stores Officer
- What to do
- Plan/release a fresh exact dispatch, record each required preset, then check the whole pinned bundle out to one operational location for the named operator.
- What you should observe
- Every identity has exact fingerprints and finite capacity; checkout produces paired TOOLING_* stock-ledger movements with zero net quantity.
May changeDispatch pins/loads, preset records, exact current locations, custody events and declared ledger entries.
Must remain unchangedCanonical serial, physical identity, item, total quantity, Assembly and material stock remain unchanged.
- 5ManufacturingOpen /manufacturing/build-control
Execute and accumulate life
- Acting role
- Exact named Production Operator
- What to do
- Complete any pinned visual steps, then record the established released operation once. Review the life event for each exact checked-out control.
- What you should observe
- USES, MINUTES or CYCLES advance from actual operation evidence; a reached interval/limit is explicitly blocked in place.
May changeImmutable life events and, only when due, explicit service status plus paired block ledger entries.
Must remain unchangedThere is no second execution engine, material issue, maintenance job or machine command.
- 6Inventory / Manufacturing / QualityOpen /manufacturing/tooling
Return and independently service
- Acting role
- Stores Officer → Manufacturing/Stores service recorder → different Quality Inspector
- What to do
- Return the exact bundle to each crib, record inspection or permitted cutting-tool regrind evidence, then have a different Quality Inspector accept or reject it.
- What you should observe
- Only accepted PASS evidence releases eligible blocked tooling; failed/rejected or life-expired identities stay blocked.
May changeReturn/block/release ledger pairs, custody/service/review evidence and reset counters permitted by the released control.
Must remain unchangedTotal quantity, identities, calibration, generic maintenance, Assembly, payroll, accounting and unrelated stock remain unchanged.
